Who Am I and Why Listen to Me?

I'm Nicky Edwards, a Physiotherapist of almost 20 years and run coach. I also studied Sports Science before becoming a Physiotherapist. From a non-runner at 39 to an ultrarunner in just a few years, I know the challenges you face as a new runner trying to get started as well as the challenges that arise as you push the boundaries to see just how far and fast you can go.

Juggling a business and a young family I mastered the art of training smarter, not harder. I've run 10 marathons including the London, New York, Chicago and Berlin marathons as I chase the elusive Abbotts Six Star finisher medal. I have been part of the medical team at the London Marathon, so have experienced marathons from both sides of the fence.

I've helped thousands of runners prevent injury and smash their running goals. Working with charities such as Brain Research UK and Children with Cancer UK for 5 years, I've helped over 1300 runners train for the London Marathon every year with masterclasses on everything from how to get started as a non-runner, training tips, injury prevention, mindset, race day tips and so much more.

I've been an expert speaker at the London Marathon 'Meet Our Experts' day, the London Marathon running show and The National Running Show as well as at smaller events. I speak about how to prevent injuries, marathon training, female specific training, perimenopause and menopause as well as how to stay safe while running.

As a physiotherapist I have diagnosed and rehabilitated every running injury you can image and more! Personally, I'm running faster and further than ever despite being almost 45, 2 major hip operations, lung surgery and being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at the beginning of 2025. With the right training and support, you can chase big goals too. ​
