Who Am I?
I'm Nicky Edwards, Physiotherapist, Runner, and Mum to 2 beautiful children and one furry baby (my running partner, my GSP called Cheyne).
I am the founder of Chiltern Physiotherapy, a highly successful Physiotherapy & Pilates Clinic in Chorleywood, Hertfordshire.
Running (other than chasing a hockey ball) was something that I never really felt any good at. I’ve worked at The London Marathon as a Physiotherapist but never dreamed I would actually run it! I ran the (virtual) London Marathon (dressed as a sunflower) just before my 40th birthday and it was the BEST day ever!
Despite constant rain, I smiled the whole way. I went 'live' on Facebook throughout the race and took selfies with people along the way.
It's impossible to describe the emotions I felt that day - the exhilaration, the pride, the sense of achievement. But other emotions that lots of runners feel during a marathon - despair, exasperation, defeat.... NEVER even crossed my mind. I’m signed up to run again in October 2021.
Learning to train and fuel correctly in harmony with my female physiology has transformed my running and my life! I absolutely love being able to share my knowledge and passion with others and watch their progress and the friendships that are formed.
